photography phun at Maya’s birthday party

Last night I helped throw a party for my wife’s 40th birthday party. An Intergalactic Space Ball/Party. What a blast it was!

This also happened to be the first chance to really push my new primary camera’s fabled “available light” shooting potential.  Knowing how cool the atmospheric lighting effects would be at the party, I really wanted to see how much of that I could pick up in the shots.

Here’s something to know: If you really want to capture the subtle, intimate moments of a party, you can’t use a flash. -Not any type of flash.
